It might seem daunting to go from just taking cash and cheques to taking card payments with a mobile app. Whilst a lot of businesses are put off by perceived difficulties in setting up to a device take card payments, it’s actually very simple.
Smart App will revolutionise the way you do business – not only can you take card payments, but you can send quotes, invoices and keep track of your leads in just one app. To take card payments, you don’t need to sign up to a contract, have a merchant account or buy any additional hardware to put on your phone. What’s more, you can even have 0% transaction fees if you pass the fee onto the customer.
It’s really easy to get started with the Smart App. It only takes three steps to get the Smart App set up and ready to take customer card payments.
1. Download the Smart App
Just go to your QPro account and click on ‘Smart App’. Then click on the iPhone or Android icon, depending on the smartphone you have. You will then receive an SMS with a link to download the app – just tap on that.
2. Sign up for a Stripe account
To take payments, you need to sign up for a free account with our payment provider, Stripe. All of the information from your QPro account will be used for your Stripe account, but there are just a few extra details that you will need to fill in to sign up. Just try to take a payment using the Smart App (see our tutorial video on how to do it), then follow the instructions when it asks you to set up a Stripe account.
3. Take a test payment
This is the final step before you can start taking payments with the Smart App. Take a test payment of £1.50 with your app, as the first payment takes 10 days to be processed whilst it goes through some security checks. Once you’ve done that, you can start taking super-fast card payments from your customers.
